While far less prevalent in the gaming world than Xbox Live or PlayStation Plus, PS Now has managed to get over 2.2 million subscribers since its initial launch in 2014. Not everyone is a fan, though - if you’re here, chances are it’s because you’re wondering how to cancel your PlayStation Now subscription. Thankfully, Sony has made the process relatively simple, but there are still a few quirks to be aware of, and the process is different for each device. With that in mind, let’s get started.

What is PlayStation Now?

PlayStation Now (PS Now) is a cloud gaming subscription service devised by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It allows players to stream PlayStation games from across Sony’s entire catalog on their PS4 and PS5 consoles or PC devices. As long as you don’t cancel your PS Now subscription, it gives access to a library with well over 800 classic titles, spanning the entire PS2-PS5 era.

To use PS Now, you need a reasonably fast connection (Sony recommends at least 5 Mbps). If streaming to non-PS devices, you’ll also have to get an XInput-compatible controller, such as a DualShock, DualSense, or an Xbox gamepad.

PS Now vs. PS Plus

A lot of people tend to confuse PS Now with PlayStation Plus, Sony’s other subscription service. While both allow you to play free games, they are slightly different:  PlayStation Now offers a vast back catalog of legendary PS games, while PS Plus has a much more limited selection but gives early access to the latest betas, demos, and games, as well as discounts on popular store titles.
