In 2018 I bought a FitBit off of Craigslist. The band broke twice in 1 year and there were software bugs sprinkled throughout my time of owning it. I just didn't like how it fit. Then in Nov. 2019 I bought a LETSFIT tracker that the screen cracked on within 2 months, had really inaccurate steps reporting, and said my heart rate was almost 200 during workouts (yea right!).
So after hours of scouring Amazon for a better & more affordable tracker, 9 pages in my search for "Fitness tracker" I stumbled across this and the reviews looked great and the look of the watch looked incredible. After owning it for a week I can flat out say that this is the best tracker I've owned and possibly the best one on the market for someone who just wants to track their steps/sleep/heart rate and have something that tells the time.
The Screen:
First, there are probably hundreds of faces for the watch you can switch out to, and to my knowledge so far, they're all free. You just open the Mi Fit app, go into your Profile, go into the Smart Band 5 device, and navigate to the Store. Press the one you want and it will sync to the watch. It's so easy. The faces that I've used look beautiful (my photos do not do them justice), like someone who actually knows about art design and color created them. One of the faces shows the watch's battery (in %), the time, the date, how many steps I've taken, and my heart rate, all on the main screen. Perfect. There's an on-screen button at the bottom of the watch face that when pressed, takes you to the home screen or turns the watch face on. It's very similar to an android device. You can swipe the screen left, right, up, or down on the screen and get to a different feature. Swiping to the left gets me the weather, which is dead on, and swiping the other way takes me to my messages, which pop up instantly when someone sends me a text. I even get messages from group texts! Something my LETSFIT watch would not do. The text looks sleek and professional. Easy to read.
The Tracking:
The step tracking seems way more accurate than my LETSFIT watch. I'm on my feet almost all day, constantly walking around, sometimes short jaunts, and sometimes long ones. I'd get done with the day and my LETSFIT watch would tell me I had only about 6000 steps. That's after walking around for 12-14 hours.. Not so with this watch. There are some mornings when I've been running around walking long distances and I'll have 3000 steps before 10am, which seems pretty accurate to me. I've owned 2 fitness trackers and I used to run/coach cross country, so I have a pretty good idea how many steps it should be tracking from my FitBit that tracked fairly well. The heart rate tracking is way more accurate than my LETSFIT, but I haven't come to a full conclusion on it. I have it set to track every 5 minutes and my normal resting heart rate is usually about 49-52. That's what my FitBit would register at and my doctor confirmed it. My resting HR on this band has been in the 60s-70s so it may be a little off. When I'm working out it seems to work better though, and maybe that's because it's tracking the entire time and not every 5 minutes. I'll hit up to 164 which seems pretty normal as a max for the intense workouts that I do.
The battery:
Well so far I've clocked in the battery running about 10% per day. This is with the HR checking at 5 minute intervals (you can go as low as 1 min intervals). I'd say that gives you about 9-10 days of battery life, which is excellent, in my book.
The syncing:
This thing syncs up quickly when you open the app. It also syncs with Google Fit if you open the Mi Fit app and go into accounts and add Google Fit. When you first get the watch and want to sync it, download the Mi Fit app, then make sure you long press on your Bluetooth on your phone and find the watch itself and pair it. Then when you press the screen of the watch it will say it needs to sync first. Press the check mark or next icon and it will automatically pair up.
Other cool things that I'm just flat out impressed with:
I thought I wouldn't like the elongated elliptical shape of the watch face. I was wrong. It's nice and minimalistic. The band is SUPER LIGHT and so easy to put on. Thread the band through the loop and press the little pin into a hole. Done. This means there's no excess band to flap around accidentally. Normal watch bands have the excess band that slips through a small loop on the watch after you've secured it, and it can come loose and you have to rethread it. Not this one. Since the end of the band is what gets pinned into the hole, this thing stays nice and secure on your wrist. The manual says you can wear it in the shower or during swimming. I don't plan to try either, but man, that's just cool.
The sleep tracker is dead on accurate. I have cats and so I get up in the early morning to feed them, and sometimes go back to bed on the weekends. This thing will pick up when I get up, and then resume my sleep tracking once I go back to bed. My old tracker would just stop tracking once I got up.
The app itself is very sleek and well done. I've not encountered any bugs, and everything is very well organized. You can turn on notifications, incoming calls, smart analysis of your sleep tracking and exercise, and you can set 3 types of alarms: Mon-Fri, every day, and once, and dictate the time. You can go into the app itself and have it grab your location for the weather and change it between Fahrenheit and Celsius degrees. There is even a feature to control your phone camera from the watch for taking pictures, but I haven't really messed with that yet.
Recommendations to the Mi Band company: You need to add the words "watch" or "fitness tracker" closer to the beginning of your product name, or something to get you listed better on Amazon when someone does a search for your product. It took me 9 pages of sifting through every other Chinese knockoff watch to find yours. It makes me wonder if Amazon realizes that every cheap knockoff fitness tracker with a different name is actually the same company just calling themselves something else, because they all have the same watch face & same graphics.

Lots of great features but one major flaw. I wanted this to work so bad. I read up on this this was the one I wanted. If you look at my picture it’s a Fitbit charge three. For all of you don’t know Fitbit charge three and four the back lighting is so bad that I cannot be seen during a day. It’s also bad at night. But when I said can’t be seen during the day it’s impossible. Now let’s go down the list of pros for this watch because there’s a lot more of them than there are cons believe it or not but the one con is the most important thing to me so it had to go back.
PROS:
Extremely bright. It’s level three was already twice as bright as the highest level of the Fitbit charge. Once you put it up the five it was ridiculous how it was. So bright
Because I wore the Fitbit on one arm and wore this watch and the other I got to see the accuracy. Almost spot on everything from heart rate to sleep. The only thing that was different was the steps off by about 1000 to 1500 per day. And to be honest I think that it was more accurate than the Fitbit because the Fitbit will give you steps for just sitting there and moving your arms. That’s what one major flaw on the Fitbit and there are several. And when I would look at those watches I was in shock at how close they were. And the heart rate was the one that shocked me the most it was literally the exact same. And of course it’s so simple to check your heart beats per minute and then check the watches so that’s how I knew it was totally accurate
Tons of features. It has about 40 different clock faces. Stopwatch tons of exercises. Now some of these faces are ridiculous and they’re just not meant for people who are using this fitness tracker it’s meant more for fun and I understand that. I don’t need those but there’s a whole bunch of them anyway.
You have the ability to put on the front screen what you want. Fit does not allow that. You only have a few different faces that you can choose and with the faces of the Fitbit you cannot alter what the front screen has you have to take it the way it is and then shuffle through what you want to get to. Meaning that you put things on the front screen and then you can tap them and utilize them from the front screen no swiping back-and-forth if you have them on the front screen. Very good feature
Although the screen was small as I said very bright so it made it look like it was bigger than it was but the screen is definitely smaller than the Fitbit probably by Almost half. But the band was very good.
Totally lightweight.
It gives you the ability to find your phone. If you can’t find your phone you hit a button in settings and it gives a very loud ring that will not stop. Really cool. It also does that with the tracker from the phone. The only difference there is is it only vibrates but it vibrates loud enough to where if you turn everything off you can hear it. Really cool feature. As I said it’s got a lot more pros and cons
The app takes some getting used to when you’re using Fitbit for so many years like I have been. I go all the way back to the charge HR original. But once you get used to the app it’s good.
Fantastic value for the money
LONG BATTERY LIFE even as you would put each new feature on it would tell you that it drains the battery it’s still would give you three times as much as you would get from the fat cat. It was unbelievable. Everything that you do would seem to add a little bit more battery drainage it would say but you still got way more than a Fitbit
No clip to charge. Meaning that you don’t have to mess around with the Fitbit if you know what I’m talking about to get it to show the battery charging position. This is a magnetic charger that goes right to it. Some people don’t like that idea
CONS:
There’s only one and this is the most important thing to me. When you exercise whether you have it set to pick up automatically that you’re doing an exercise or not it continuously would start and stop it self depending on your movement and I don’t mean your movement starting and stopping. I will be running and I would move my arm a certain way and it would stop it would pause it will go back and reset itself and then I wouldn’t get the accurate reading. I can’t have that. That’s why I have a fitness tracker. I don’t have a stupid smart watch as I don’t care about those features. Just like I don’t care about the Fitbit charge 4 that gives GPS which is a bunch of garbage. And gives you the ability to pay with Visa again a bunch of garbage . again I have my phone with me all the time to listen to music I have my phone with me all the time just in case I don’t have my wallet so I can pay via Apple Pay. Unnecessary things to completely drain your battery and they never fixed the most important feature was the backlight. You had the opportunity to vote for that millions of people did and they didn’t change it. That’s because Google inspected and they are doing everything they can to get away from fitness trackers and get you to buy the $300 versa smart watch. Well that’s not happening. Maybe I got a bad one. But I don’t think so. My research tells me that this is what this watch does this was a one flock to it. And you feel it vibrate on your wrist continuously where it is starting and stopping starting and stopping and starting stopping resetting. You can’t tell which is which because the vibration is all the same. That was the most important thing for me, to track what I’m doing and could not do it so it had to go back. But maybe as I said I got a bad one but from what I did research wise before I sent this watch back no I did not get a bad one. This happens with this watch. I’m getting my third watch I’ve already returned a lower price smart watch that was a joke. It read your heart rate one out of every times correctly. And I wore that in conjunction with a fitbit As well. I have another on the way from Black Friday and we’ll see if that one does it better it’s in amazfit something or other smart watch. But because you can return these watches give it a try. Maybe it won’t do it for you. Maybe it won’t stop and start just from wrist movement while you’re running 2 miles and then only calculate that you ran five or 600 steps because it turns out back off and reset itself. Maybe it won’t do that to you and if it does it you’ve got the best watch you’ve ever had as far as a fitness tracker for the press. It is better than a Fitbit because it’s just as accurate and it has more features that affect us. I hope this helps you guys out

Vale apena o investimento.

Was ist anders (neu) im Vergleich zum 4er:
1. Kleiner Akku (10 mAh weniger)
2. Display ist minimal gewachsen (0.95 vs. 1.1 Zoll)
3. Nur 16 Bit Farbtiefe statt 24 Bit
4. Display ist minimal heller (450 nits statt 400)
5. Deutlich mehr Trainings-Programme
Y a funcionar!!
Y prefiero no saber cuánto he llegado a no descansar en condiciones 😥.
