Performs as described.... I’d say better

People drive me nuts. All of the one star ratings complain that there is a monthly fee. It really is just plain unfair that people choose not to read the product description which explains the tiered cost system for this product. It is not Spytec’s fault that people are lazy and assume they get a free product.I say free because it is probably sold at about the cost it is to manufacture it. It also cost money to employ people who run the software which also has a cost to the company. If you want free, go to Google Maps and print out what you were looking for.So I went with the updating every one minute for my location package when using this unit. There are a few options with the most frequent being every five seconds .I develop and fly UAVs (aerial drone systems). I use this to track them in flight and ensure I know their location. (Happy to say I have a faithful spouse and a lovely daughter ). The drones have a GPS unit for navigation but I do not get real time tracking with most of them as their purpose is often for a line-of-sight industrial use . I tested this as shown in one of the photos with the red circular markers on my commute to work and home again. You can see for yourself, it looks accurate and I assure you, it is as accurate as it appears. The markers are spread out at 60 second intervals. The app works quite well and working directly from a laptop has a few additional benefits. SpyTec is an actual Company where you can reach out and talk to people. You get real customer service when you need it and I have bought a few of their different products over the years. There is a lot of value in that.I am sure that a lot of the units that are attached to an unknown brand work well, but I get emails from the folks over at spy tech and they are willing to help whenever I have a question which is generally just for some clarification.This is a dependable product that is backed by people right here in the US. They stand by their product, support it, and are ready available to address any questions I may have. So when someone chooses not to read the product description and consider that it actually cost money for something like this to work, how serious were they really looking to find a dependable product in the first place? For anyone who wants a product like this that is dependable, needs to be relied on for their own expensive equipment, and understands that this type of technology cost a company money to run.... well you have probably already read the description and requirements. I will say this is the company I look for when it comes to tracking anything GPS where I need detail and accuracy. I also plan to continue doing so with no reservation.Highly recommended
