There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
Our seven year old unit from another manufacturer was giving us issues last year and continued to do so this past Spring. We could not afford to allow the humidity in our basement get too high for a long period of time or end up having mold issues. I did research various places online and in consumer reports. My previous brand was their top recommendation but Midea was their number two. I had never heard of Midea before and continued doing more research and read many reviews. My previous brand was out of stock and Midea was a bit less in price so I ordered it.
Immediately upon receiving the unit, I read the instructions, plugged it in and set it to run continuously on Turbo mode. I was pleased with how quiet it was compared to our old unit and it continues to run quietly. The air filter is much easier to clean than my previously used brand and it provides you with a notification light when it is time to clean. I have also noticed that despite running this new unit as heavily as past seasons, our electric bill has lower. The bills so far are almost a $5-$7 less per month than past years.
Only two very minor items and I do mean minor, the first is the bucket has to be lined up exactly or it will not go back into the body of the unit. I learned the two rails on the bottom of the unit are to help assist in doing that so that minor issue was of my own doing. The second is the humidity guage. I have had an electronic humidity indicator in our basement for many years now and the one built into the dehumidifier never seemed to match my guage. I re-read the instructions manual and found that the built in guage could be plus/minus 5 or more. This was the exact amount of difference between the two so be sure to read and re-read the instruction manual to learn everything before jumping to any conclusions.
Overall, I am quite pleased with the decision to purchase this model and brand and give it my highest recommendation.

Unlike some reviewers ours does not seem to discharge hot air, although for us this would have been a plus as it would help heat the space. It's worth mentioning that while it has a low profile compared to conventional dehumidifiers, the air is discharged out the top rather than the side.
I don't particularly know or care how accurate the humidity indicator is so long as it's pulling moisture out of the air., which It does very well judging by the quantity of water it collects and the lack of condensation on the windows in the space it's being used in.
The reservoir is huge - we can go a couple of days between emptying - but this means you need to use some muscle to first lift off the dehumidifier unit (we put ours on a baking sheet to catch drips), and then pick up the bucket which fortunately has a built-in handle - and you can set the unit to shut off after filling from 25% to 75% of capacity.
Ours stopped working after a month. Would not power up. As a last-ditch effort before returning it I installed the smart phone app which much to my surprise actually worked - and I was able to use it get the unit running again. Again, I don't know why this would work but it did.
All in all, this product turned out to be the best solution available for our specific application.
Since day one, the basement is a great place to enjoy.
The water tank was full the first night.
Since then, I empty it every 2 days.
Where I live (Canada), we have a Heat warning today (feels like 40C = 104 F)… with the dehumidifier on, its almost like I have AC on in the basement.
The noise it makes is like a fan at it 2nd lowest level ( my fan is almost inaudible at it’s lowest level).
Really happy with the product.
I’ll complete my review after 6 months of usage
