2. Screen brightness is a similar issue as volume. This thing lights up the room. Does the display need to be daylight readable? No. So why does it look like a beacon in the bedroom at night?
This has a ton of features and most of them we don’t use. But the things you see and deal with every night are what drives me crazy about this high end unit.
When we moved our baby into their own room, THEN the biggest issue came up. The Parent Unit will randomly beep very loudly, with no identifiable pattern when the screen is off (which I need it to be at night). It might be 30 seconds, or 5 minutes, or 52 minutes. The effect though, is that the camera was waking me up more than our baby was in the night. After 3 nights of no sleep because of the random beep that kept startling me awake, I finally left the screen on and face down and reached out to support. This is not an acceptable long-term solution as its going to burn out the screen quickly.
Well, there is another whole load of fun! I opened a case with all the info, the first thing they replied with was asking me for the same info I already gave them. After a few days going back and forth and telling them the same info over and over repeatedly, they suddenly stopped replying. I emailed in and asked for a status update, no response. 20 days after they stopped replying to emails, I went onto their support site to try their support chat. The first thing they do is tell me that I stopped replying to their emails. I sent them a screenshot of the 3 emails I had sent them giving them the information they requested (again) and my 2 "what is the status" emails. They continued to insist that I just hadn't replied even though I provided proof that I had. Great, call me a liar, thanks for that!
After more "troubleshooting" with the support person, they kept asking me the same questions again and again. I told them I'm done after a month of troubleshooting and waiting for responses and being called a liar and I wanted a refund. They kept saying "oh well the streaming app works so we can't give a refund." I don't use my phone to stream the camera at night while I'm sleeping, I'm trying to sleep. That is not our primary use for this monitor. We use it with the parent unit to monitor our baby at night, and if it keeps waking me up more than the baby does, thats a huge problem. As a new parent, everyone knows that sleep is a precious commodity.
After having them refuse a refund or even to send a replacement parent unit, I told them I need a manager to call me, not live chat. They told me they do not have any phone support but they could get me a supervisor on the chat. What kind of joke of a company doesn't even have a phone line to call?
I spoke with the supervisor through their crummy chat system, and his solution was for me to send them our monitor back, they would have their techs troubleshoot it, and if they found an issue, they would send a replacement back. With no timeframe given for the whole process where I would be completely without a baby monitor.
I escalated AGAIN and was told that they will not send a new unit until I first send them mine (at my expense too!) and they troubleshoot it and then they might send me a new one back. I told the manager that this was unacceptable for a baby monitor, and all she would do is tell me I can make a general complaint to their customer service mailbox.
After pushing further, she offered me a "courtesy exception" (what happened to "I can't do that"??) but I would have to give her my credit card info over an unsecured chat system (no!) and send the unit back within 10 days and if I don't then my credit card will be charged and they won't offer any refund after that point.
So basically their best solution for selling a broken product is to sell me another one since I can't ship back my current camera until the new one comes in and then by the time it gets to them, the 10 days have expired and I've been charged for a new system.
Bottom line: DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA! For a "high end" and expensive camera, if you have any issues with it their support will be garbage. This was one of my most regretted purchases ever.
1. No internal storage option - There is no way to save your precious videos of your baby locally on a micro sd card on your camera. And without a subscription service, you cannot view recorded videos. Without a subscription service all you can do is live view. When I first received this camera I noticed this problem immediately. I contacted Motorola and called them out on it. They provided me with a 6 month free subscription which they don't advertise but I guess they offer it if people complain about it and are considering returning the camera like I was. I shouldn't have taken it because now 6 months later I am back to the same problem which is I am forced to sign up for a subscription service in order to save videos of my baby. This is such a low low move. So I purchased a Reolink camera, zip tied it to underneath the Motorola camera, and inserted a memory card. Free storage and it cost me $50. AND the video is 5MP rather than 1080p.
2. The parent video console is only 720p quality. And sometimes it'll start the lullaby music and/or light show projector on it's own when turned on. The parent console has a decent range but the further you are away from the Halo camera the less frames you get. You get maybe 15 frames per second close to the Halo camera. But when you start to get 20 or 30 feet away it drops to 5 frames per second and sometimes 1 frame every 5 seconds. It's pretty bad.
3. When live viewing from your phone the app sometimes crashes or times out and will not attempt to auto reconnect. So if you're using your phone during the night, you fall asleep and the app disconnects from the camera, it will not reconnect and you're stuck worrying all night long.
4. The only thing that this baby monitor has going for it is the special crib design for installation and the light show projector. But the light show auto times out after about 10 minutes and you cannot change this. And you can get a cheap light projector with way more options for $20. The Halo camera has one light show and all its does is slowly appears and then slowly disappears. I am just not impressed. It almost feels like it was a last minute add-on they threw in there to make it unique compared to others. Yes the Motorola Halo has a built-in projector, friendly install design and has an RGB light ring around it. But there are more important features out there.
5. The Motorola app for Android and Apple has things like baby articles, sleep, food and diaper tracking and the like. But every time you click on something there is some feature that could provide you with better details and insight if you pay for a subscription plan. The entire app is riddled with pay walls.
6. There is no heart monitor, breathing monitor or roll over monitor. The only sensor it has is a temperature sensor which is off by about 5 degrees. I tested it with 3 different temperature sensors and the Motorola Halo was always off up to 5 degrees. So it was always reporting that the babies room was too hot so I had to turn that notification off.
Overall this camera is very expensive for what it provides and I am sorry that I gave into the 6 month free subscription service because now I cannot return it. Honestly, if Motorola offered a 3 days free cloud service so that I could have access to videos and download them onto my phone then I would be very happy and wouldn't be writing this negative review. But because Motorola want's to sell you a very expensive baby monitor camera and then nickel and dime you afterwards is a low blow move and I won't stand for it. Motorola is a huge company and they can afford to provide a measly 3 day free cloud storage. I'd even settle for 1 day. Or they could have simply added a micro sd card slot but then they wouldn't get their repeat business customers. If I could do it over I would have purchased a Miku camera. It has so much more to offer with completely free cloud storage. Skip the Motorola Halo and find something that won't go after your wallet after you buy it.

Pontos fracos:
A qualidade da câmera deixa um pouco a desejar no quesito delay, a qualidade de imagem é boa, tanto no modo diurno quanto noturno, mas apresenta atraso ficando um rastro na imagem;
Ao conectar um smartphone, o aparelho que vem junto é desconectado; Não cheguei a testar com dois smartphones, mas acredito que o mesmo possa acontecer.
Pontos fortes:
A qualidade das peças é notável, bem como esperava;
As funções apresentadas me agradaram bastante, a exemplo das músicas que podem ser tocadas a distância e das luzes com desenhos que refletem no teto para distrair o bebe;
A conectividade com smarphone também me agradou e me parece que a qualidade de imagem fica um pouco melhor.

We bought this camera 3 months ago and recently discovered that everytime we turn the video off on the parent unit, the parent unit briefly drops its connection to the baby unit resulting in a loud beep. Customer service has told us that there is nothing they can do as the ability to turn the video off is a feature that they no longer support. They have told us that the only solution is to leave the video on, which makes this monitor difficult to use overnight if you like your room dark. Don't waste your money on this unit if you need the ability to turn the video off but keep the audio on!
I am not very particular about sleep monitoring or adding any device on baby's body. This is truly a device as advertised.
