Using it for less than one week so let me share my experience so far with this very nice but overpriced by NVIDIA product:
Pros:
1. In my case performance looks better than expected, measured core boost clock stays around 1950 to 2050 MHz, without doing any heavy overclocking (except switching to built-in OC mode in GIGABYTE AOURUS software).
2. Runs most recent games without problem in 4K maxed settings in between stable 55 to 65 fps, older games might need triple buffering enabled with VSync enabled to achieve better frame rates in 4K.
3. Delivered in less than one week.
Cons:
1. Without air conditioning turned on - it goes very quickly to 81-82*C under load. No thermal throttling observed at the moment, but make sure your case have proper air flow. With AC on - average temperature is around 72* in my case, the card needs very good airflow - please see my updated comment at the end of this review.
2. Unfortunately, the GIGABYTE AOURUS software for overclocking and fan control is just rubbish, I can barely read it on WQHD resolution. Makes Windows boot slower, FAN control sometimes doesn't work at all, sometimes it hangs OS. Use MSI afterburner (beta for RTX) instead - works faster, more stable and supports higher resolutions than Full HD.
3. Under no load, when core temp is below 40*C - the fans sometimes are just spinning and stopping every second. I'm not sure whether this is some bug in bios or faulty fan controller (I need to do more testing and perhaps raise this issue directly to GIGABYTE, since for this price - everything should be perfect). At the moment I have set MSI afterburner to override FAN control and set fans to always rotate, so spinning and stopping issue is no longer happening. Also I have increased FAN speed at higher temperatures, but it doesn't really help to make core cooler.
Update: after testing this one week more with improved airflow - the cooling actually gets the job done. Under heavy load in OC mode and slightly increased power limit - the core temperature doesn't exceed 73*C where ambient temperature is 30 *C (I'm currently living in hot tropical climate country), so this is very good result, comparable with other much larger full three slot cooling solutions that won't fit in my case. So as I mentioned before - ensure that your case have optimal airflow with cold air flowing as close as possible to the fans of this GPU.
