Best option by FAR for dictating to Dragon!

Best USB Microphone ever! OK, sounds repetitive. But it is true. While podcasting would be fun, one overlooked use is for dictation. I use Dragon on my Mac. I have spent over $1,000 fruitlessly on microphones from Samson, Phillips SpeechMike, Plantronics, and many others. NONE of them are consistent. I have decided the microphone quality is generally quite poor, as is noise rejection. They are generally poorly directional, having immense shifts in frequency response depending how off axis you are. This radically affects recognition with even a few degrees off axis speech.The Yeti, on the other hand, is a very high fidelity microphone, it has tunable directionality, and maintains balance when even significantly off axis. I set it on my desk and can dictate with the best fidelity and accuracy I have ever experienced with Dragon. Dragon now is actually useful. And...it looks way cool on my desk!

Wer ein Mikrofon sucht, dass preislich unter 150€ liegt, wird mit dem Blue Yeti wsl sehr zufrieden sein. Für Teamspeak und auch für nicht professionelle akustische Sachen wie Gitarre oder Gesang taugt das Yeti wirklich. (Hobby mäßig)Reviewed in Germany on January 22, 2019
Einziges Manko meiner Meinung nach sind die Schrauben mit denen das Mikro am Fuß befestigt ist. Diese werden von Zeit zu Zeit locker und man muss sie nachdrehen.
Falls Gesang oder Instrumente damit aufgenommen werden würde ich auch einen Popschutz empfehlen inclusive Mikroarm, da man sonst gern mal Tischgeräusche oder ähnliches mit aufnimmt.
Zum Mikro selbst. Es verfügt über 4Modi', welche ich in den Anhang posten werde :) Ich verwende nur den Cardioid Modus zum Singen und Gamen (TS) - da bin ich sehr zufrieden mit. Die anderen Modi habe ich nicht wirklich getestet.
Weiters gibt es ein Poti mit dem sich der Gain verstellen lässt und das ganze ist auf höhster Stufe dann wirklich sehr empfindlich. Habe das Mikro neben meinem Monitor alos ca 1m weg von meinem Mund und da reichts wenn der Gains ganz niedrig eingestellt ist. Im Teamspeak perfekte Qualität und bei Gesangaufnahmen stelle ich das Mikro etwa 50cm von mir weg.
Für den Hobbygebrauch wirklich zu empfehlen. Wer was professionelles braucht sollte lieber nach XLR Mikros mit passender Peripherie Ausschau halten, jedoch bewegt man sich dann in einer anderen Preisklasse.
Für unter 150€ könnte ich nur noch das USB Mikro von Rode empfehlen. Dieses gefiel mir im Direktvergleich für Sprache besser für Instrumentaufnahmen schlechter. (Rode klarer aber gesamte Klangfarbe etwas zu hoch und daher hört sich für mich das Yeti gesamt besser an - Vorallem bei niederfrequenten Tönen)
Falls die Rezession für dich nützlich war, kannst du gerne ein "Nützlich" dalassen :-D

I got my blue yeti yesterday. I was very excited to record with it- but i faced some technical difficulties.Reviewed in India on May 5, 2018
The recordings i did with my blue yeti had no sound captured at all !!! I looked the problem up on internet and most of the comments suggested that my mic must be defective. I became so dejected :( But i decided to look into the settings and it turned out that actually the problem was just because of a few basic settings. To summarize it:
1) I found that my laptop sets yeti as default "playback" and recording device automatically. So basically after recording i was trying to listen the recording from my laptop's speaker when actually i was supposed to listen it through a headphone plugged into yeti itself. When i did just that i found that the recordings were not soundless at all :) :) :) Phew! I am so relieved.
The recordings play fine via the computer's speaker 'after' plugging out yeti from the laptop because it again sets computer's speaker as default playback device ( and that's why it's audible from the normal computer speaker once the yeti is out).
2)Now to listen the recordings even when yeti is plugged in the computer i,
- went to computer's sound control panel
- set computer's speaker as default playback device
- AND THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED :)
I looked up at a lot of websites but none suggested that this simple thing could be the problem :)
So If anyeone else is facing the same difficulty as me, you can try out what i did. I hope it helps:)
By the way I am super happy with the sound quality i am getting with yeti :) :)

This is pretty much the go to mic when it comes to starting out in streaming or recording videos for Youtube/Twitch etc. The fact that this is USB and just plugs and plays appealed due to its high quality recording capability and ease of use. The mic itself is well built and made of metal so, unsurprisingly, heavy (bear this in mind if you decide to mount this on an boom stand or arm). CARDIOID MODE - This mode records sound sources that are directly in front of the microphone.
STEREO MODE - Uses both the left and right channels to capture more realistic sound range.
OMNIDIRECTIONAL MODE - Picks up sound equally from all around the mic (best for live recordings around a table etc)
BIDIRECTIONAL - Records from both the front and rear of the microphone—good for recording a duet or a two-person interview.
I use this mic attached to a AKORD Professional Adjustable Microphone Fold and pop filter.
This does offer a high quality sound recording but if you wanted to take things to the next level you'd probably want invest in a mic with an XLR connection and mixer combo. However if you want something easy to setup/use with a high level of recording quality then Blue Yeti is highly recommended. As a side note I've been using this for 3 years now and its still going strong!
