There are TWO little cutouts below where the metal table rides. One is close to the needle arm and one is on the upper left area of the base. They both have a little drive wheel you can easily see inside. I (wrongfully) assumed the drive wheel by the needle was the one to install the belt on. (I actually didn't even notice the cutout on the upper left until after troubleshooting.) Put the belt in place, put the metal table disc and pad in place, put a record on, pulled the needle protector sleeve off, punched the "Start" button and - nothing - absolutely nothing. It was late on a Friday, after Tech Support was closed. So - I rummaged around on their support site and found out I am not the only moron who installed the drive belt incorrectly. The correct drive wheel is the one in the cutout on the upper left of the base.
After removing the drive belt from the wrong wheel and putting it on the correct one, everything worked like a charm. This turntable is awesome - and I hate to call it a "beginner" turntable because if you're not an aficionado, this thing ain't cheap. Yes, we did purchase this to see just how much we used a turntable before jumping into the truly expensive pool - but this one is plenty good enough if you have the right speakers.
Have't had a bit of problem with the bluetooth, but I think the player has felt a little sorry for me after embarrassing me with the belt fiasco.
I am not an audiophile but for me this thing is great
Pros:
1 has blue tooth connection
2 has pre amp built in for receivers without a phono input and a selection switch for those that do.
3 not alot of things to adjust very simple operation
4 push button tone arm raising and lowering ( helps us old farts with shakey hands)
Cons:
1 the blue tooth connection may have to be reset when changing devices you pair it with.
initially my speakers and my turntable paired right up, then i paired my phone to the speakers and the turntable would not pair again. I tried every trick i could think of and eventually reached out to audio technica. they responed the next day with a reset procedure for resetting the blue tooth connection. i have pasted the procedure below.. Hope it helps
Thank you for contacting Audio-Technica. It sounds as though resetting the Bluetooth on the turntable should fix the issue you are experiencing. We recently amended the reset procedure, and I will leave the revised instructions below:
Please try resetting the Bluetooth on the turntable again. Note that the reset procedure was recently amended. Right after you press the button and the light starts flashing red/blue, let go of the button for like 1 second then press and HOLD it down until you see the light flash just RED slowly twice. See the full procedure, step by step, below.
Resetting the Bluetooth on the AT-LP60XBT and AT-LP120XBT-USB-BK Turntables.
1. Power off your Bluetooth audio device (speaker, headphone or sound bar). Turn any other devices that have previously been paired to the turntable off (power them down).
2. Place the turntable and your Bluetooth device within 3 feet of each other.
3.Without the turntable being in the pairing mode (the indicator light on the turntable should be solid red), press and hold down the Bluetooth button on the turntable for about 2 to 3 seconds. You will see the light begin to flash red and blue rapidly back and forth as it does when it goes into the pairing mode. After about 1 to 2 seconds of seeing this, briefly release the button (for at least 1 second) then press and hold the button down until you see the light blink just RED slowly - twice, then the light will go back to flashing red and blue. It may take up to a minute or so to see the light blink just RED twice. Once the light goes back to flashing red and blue, you may let go of the button.
4. Wait for the flashing red and blue light to time out, at which time it will go back to being solid red. This may take up to a minute or so to occur. Once the light is solid red, the Bluetooth function has been reset.
5. Power on your Bluetooth device and attempt to pair the turntable to it again.

A couple of things to note: someone already mentioned it but in case it gets lost in the comments, there is no "off" button so if you don't want it plugged in all the time, you'll need to remember to unplug it. Also, if you press the "Start" button, it will automatically play starting from the first track, meaning if you don't want to listen to the first track, you'll have to manually place the arm. That being said, I haven't tried to yet as I'm not 100% sure if you can move the arm to the track you want to listen to manually and I don't want to break it on my first day.
Overall, I'm really pleased with this purchase.
