I’ll start with the positive feedback. I am very impressed by the brightness. 400 ANSI lumen vs 100 (I also own the Capsule) makes a tremendous difference. I am able to watch comfortably, during daylight hours, in my living room which only has wood blinds. My point being that you don’t need a blacked out room to use the Solar. Most colors appear quite rich to me, even during the day.
My primary reason for purchasing the Solar is the quadrilateral keystone correction. It was getting old having to ensure my Capsule was perfectly perpendicular to the wall which leads to a mess of cords everywhere. I wanted a clean look in my living room since this is replacing my want for a TV. I am very happy with this feature when it works (more on my gripes later). I have the unit sitting on a corner shelf next to my couch and I am able to perfectly center the image over my credenza.
Now for some negative feedback. Blues and cooler tones do appear to be washed out at times, even in a pitch black room. This is not a dealbreaker for me. I am projecting directly onto very light grey walls so I’m sure this is a contributing factor. Maybe someday I will splurge on the screen. For now, this works!
Its best feature is also its most frustrating. I didn’t realize when I bought this that the quadrilateral correction is not automatic. I don’t feel like this was advertised clearly. Now it does correct automatically in the vertical plane, but so does my Capsule. The manual adjustment is not difficult, so once again, this con is not a dealbreaker. However, every time the unit is turned off, your adjustment settings are reset. THIS might be a dealbreaker. Since I’m trying to use this almost daily, it’s incredibly frustrating that there isn’t a way to save your settings so that the unit is ready to go when turned on after having remained in the same spot.
Another gripe is the fact that even while plugged in with the provided Anker charging cable and USB-C, the unit appears to consume power at a rate that exceeds the charger’s ability to replenish it. So after about 2-3 hours of continuous use, it will die and have to be left off and allowed to charge back up. This makes no sense to me since the advertised battery life in standard mode is 2 hours. So I can’t charge and use the unit at the same time?! With my capsule, I have never had an issue playing and charging simultaneously so this was is a very surprising flaw in the Solar and is another reason I might return it.
In summary, I went into this purchase with the expectation that a projector in this price range will never exceed the picture quality and true-to-life color pallet of a modern UHD TV. With that in mind, this little guy has surpassed my expectations. At night, I honestly forget that it is a projector sometimes. I don’t miss having a TV and I don’t find myself longing for better picture quality. Embedded speakers on a unit like this will never provide the same experience as a theater system, but they’re not bad at all. I will eventually get a soundbar if I keep this thing. As for the charging/battery issue- I recognize that I purchased the portable version and that there is a stationery version which would eliminate this issue. I went portable because I travel so frequently and will often make use of the battery feature. At a price point $80 higher, this thing should be able to do everything the stationery version does + more right? Especially since older units can play and charge at the same time.
I own a ton of Anker products from charging cables to powerbanks and I love them all for their quality and longevity. I have had the Nebula Capsule for nearly 4 years and have been very happy with it, hence this upgrade. I my impression of Anker products is that their design is well thought out and detail oriented. This is why the 2 major flaws I have addressed are so surprising to me. I am currently on the fence about whether or not I’ll keep this thing. I’m not sure it’s enough of an upgrade from my old Capsule to justify.
**the photo is an example of ~110” projection from a distance of 11ft and an angle of about 15 degrees during daylight hours.

At 120" even outdoors, while there's still some light out, the picture quality is quite good and visible, for well-lit applications. Darker videos obviously need less light, but nothing extreme.
The onboard speakers is okay. I wouldn't recommend dramas, suspense, or horror, as they tend to have a lot lower volumes, but the majority of online videos and movies should be fine for small applications. If you're playing for larger venues, you're gonna wanna invest in an external receiver, because the Bluetooth connectivity is very much useless. I thought the other reviews were just exaggerating, but if anything, they're downplaying the horrific functionality. There's no way to use it. It really is on the level of being a joke; it's garbage and just serves to increase cost.
Remote requires direct line of sight and is generally poor in responsiveness, but functional.
No auxiliary output is probably the biggest flaw as it has such poor audio options.
[PREVIOUS REVIEW (if this happens, your wireless hardware is defective)] This device is not easy to setup, like all the other reviews claim. Instead of simply listing available networks, for you to choose yours from, you have to manually input the name and password, before the device attempts to connect. It then fails, but doesn't designate if it was your network name of password that was incorrect. The Google quick setup is nothing more than 3 seconds of waiting before being prompted to unsuccessfully try the garbage wifi setup again. Oh, there's an app too, which does nothing - well, you can click a picture of the device you purchased and watch as a fractal infinity symbol is etched across your screen a few times, before being unable to connect to your device. At this point, I don't even wanna know what will happen if I try to just go straight to the HDMI. It really feels like this is an overpriced joke.
This Projector is Phenomenal. The Colors are Vivid. The image is Crisp. It has HDR10 and Dolby sound. It has a gaming mode too(I have the LG for this. 120hz is too good).
I'm not an expert(only my second Projector) but this is definitely a 5/5 star product. I know the price seems steep but it's worth it.
I'm projecting at 100" and it just looks like a huge Highend HD TV. Ambient Light does not kill the image but as with all projectors, darkness is preferred (just not necessary here).
P.S. I won't really rate the sound because I use Bose Headphones for private listening.

PROS:
--------
Small/portable
Android TV
Software is responsive
No lag or missing frames while streaming 1080p
1/4-20 mounting
CONS:
--------
Fan is loud and cycles on and off constantly (distracting).
Speakers are OK but fight with the fan noise.
Netflix App is forced through Nebula Manager resulting in a BAD mobile version (WHY?!)
Brightness is as advertised, best used in dark rooms or at night.
We decided to upgrade.
We originally had a Dr.J Professional. (The first photo). The screen we currently have is from that first projector. It was blurry and washed out.
The screen is not very opaque. So it's effecting the quality of the Nebula projector. So we are looking into a new more opaque screen as well. The difference between the 2 so far though is very noticeable! It doesn't give us a nice black, but we have it in the middle of the room and some of light falls behind it. The picture is much clearer tho and colours are way brighter.
Having the apps built in and Chromecast is already way better since we had our computer hooked up to the first projector. Now one of us can use the projector, the other can use the computer :)
Definitely recommend! Bit pricey but the extra features are great to have !

Update Jan. 20/2020.
Just got a proper screen with hydrologic features (Elite Screen pull down screen). 100% recommend! Screen was also purchased through Amazon. The colour this projector produces on a proper screen is amazing (third photo). You can see everything very clear with the lights on now!
I would say, Kind of sad the remote doesn't have light up buttons so we can what we press in the dark. The speakers are okay. And it's. Bit laggy and kind of have to press multiple times before getting a response. But it's a really nice projector and Id still recommend it! Keeping the five star rating.

Screen sharing not straightforward
Speakers work but are not amazing by any means
Perhaps I received a bad one but it’s no where near simple/plug n play
Kind of reminds me of an Android tv box. Ok but not without a learning curve and glitches
